The top-seeded team of Misty May of Costa Mesa and Holly McPeak of Manhattan Beach took third place and won $14,000 in an FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour event at Macau, China, defeating Barbara Fontana of Manhattan Beach and Elaine Youngs of Encinitas, 26-24, 20-22, 15-10.
Second-seeded Kerri Pottharst and Natalie Cook of Australia won the $27,000 first-place prize with a 28-26, 21-13 win against Adriana Behar and Shelda Bede of Brazil.
