In the third-place game:
Santa Margarita 3, No. 9 El Toro 1--Center fielder Kimmie Hopkin was four for five, all singles, and scored two runs for Santa Margarita (16-5, 1-0). Nicole Bartholomew (10-1) pitched a one-hitter with seven strikeouts.
In other tournament games:
Woodbridge 1, No. 8 Capistrano Valley 0--Katia Knutson singled home Melissa Haffner in the fifth inning and Brittany Crouch pitched a four-hitter for Woodbridge (12-11). Capistrano Valley is 15-5.
No. 4 Pacifica 2, Huntington Beach 0--Kasey Carter pitched a two-hitter for fourth-ranked Pacifica (16-3), which scored both runs in the fifth.
In nonleague baseball:
Fullerton 11, Crescenta Valley 4--Kyle Cullinan had two home runs, a double and six RBIs for visiting Fullerton (8-10).
In the Canyon boys’ tennis tournament:
Servite 38, Canyon 31--Patrick Buchanan won at No. 1 singles, 8-1, for the Friars.
