Is it football season at Montclair Prep?
The Mounties scored 31 runs in two Delphic League games last week against Brentwood, knocking the Eagles out of first place and showing the school’s successful football team isn’t the only one that can score in bunches.
Montclair Prep (8-7, 2-1 in league play) defeated Brentwood last Tuesday, 15-5, and on Thursday, 16-15.
Junior first baseman Brian Trump had six runs batted in Thursday and is batting .490.
“Our pitching’s young, but we’re really starting to hit the ball now,” Coach Marc Saraceno said.
