Aliso Niguel 5, Newport Harbor 0--Chesiree Sievers was five for five with two RBIs, and Amanda Samonte had nine strikeouts for the visiting Wolverines (11-10, 2-2).
In the Century League:
No. 5 Canyon 5, Santa Ana Valley 0--Lindsey Klabacha struck out nine and did not allow a hit in five innings for host Canyon (18-6-1, 2-2-1).
No. 1 Foothill 9, Villa Park 0--Caitlin Lowe went four for four with two runs scored for Foothill (21-2, 4-0).
In the Empire League:
Cypress 3, Loara 2 (9)--Cypress (14-4, 4-1) moved into a first-place tie when Amanda Whitney singled to lead off the ninth and scored on two Loara errors.
Loara is 4-1 in league.
In the Freeway League:
La Habra 2, Sunny Hills 1--Third baseman Erin Murray doubled home two first-inning runs and Amber Turner (8-9) struck out seven while throwing a three-hitter for the visiting Highlanders (10-12, 3-2).
Sonora 1, Fullerton 0 (8)--Carrie Wisen drove in Michelle Miller to win it for Sonora (15-9, 4-1). Wisen went two for three with a double and had seven strikeouts to earn her ninth shutout of the season.
In the Garden Grove League:
No. 3 Pacifica 9, Santiago 0--Jessica Marical pitched a no-hitter and struck out 10 for the Mariners (18-3, 8-0).
In the Orange League:
Magnolia 5, Western 4--The Sentinels rallied from a 4-2 deficit with three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning. Amanda Vanderlip’s bases-loaded single drove in two runs and Darice Beitler’s RBI grounder scored Tammy Le for the go-ahead run.
In the Pacific Coast League:
Costa Mesa 3, Corona del Mar 2--The Mustangs (9-7-1, 4-1) scored twice in the bottom of the seventh inning. Ann Marie Topps, whose RBI triple to right field drove in the tying run, scored the winning run on Alejandra Gallardo’s base hit.
In the Serra League:
No. 6 Rosary 2, Lakewood St. Joseph 1--Kelly Schaefer doubled home one run and scored the other for the visiting Royals (16-7, 1-0).
No. 8 Santa Margarita 6, Mater Dei 0--Nicole Bartholomew (12-1) tossed a two-hitter and struck out five and Brittany Mynsburge doubled home two sixth-inning runs for the host Eagles (17-5, 2-0).
In the Sunset League:
No. 7 Esperanza 3, Edison 2 (10)--Pitcher Kristen Dedmon (12-3) singled home the go-ahead run for the Aztecs (16-4-1, 4-1) in the 10th inning. Edison (8-9, 1-4) collected nine hits and scored the season’s first earned runs against Dedmon.
No. 2 Fountain Valley 1, Marina 0--Jenny Doezie stole home in the first inning for the only run of the game for Fountain Valley (20-5, 5-0).
