Toll Road Would Displace Parkland

* Re “Trouble on the Roads Ahead,” letters, April 22:

Writer Michael T. Kennedy advised that we toll-road protesters should “buy the land . . . and turn it into parks.” Apparently, he is unaware that the land we are attempting to protect is already a park, San Mateo State Park.

And although the destruction of parkland by the proposed toll road is a concern of everyone, the organization supporting preservation of existing parkland, Friends of the Foothills, consists only of people who “live here,” contrary to Kennedy’s assertion.
