African-Inspired Art and Poetry
The Afro-Centric Committee of Ventura County will hold its benefit Showcase Artwalk & Poetry Reading on Saturday.
The fourth annual event, from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center, will offer African-inspired clothing, jewelry, artifacts, artworks, food, entertainment and educational materials.
Entertainment will include poetry readings, musical performances and readings by poet-novelist Victoria Lee-Owens.
The arts center is at 3050 Los Angeles Ave. Admission is free. For more information, call 584-3623.
