Back to School With a Bash
Up to 7,000 students, professors and administrators showed up for a free lunch Thursday at a picnic to welcome students back to Cal State Northridge. About 6,500 hot dogs, including 2,100 veggie dogs, were served during the two-hour lunch. Thousands more were expected for a free dinner Thursday evening. This is the ninth year of the annual event held at the beginning of the fall semester, which started Monday. CSUN’s enrollment is expected to be about 30,000 this fall, up from 29,000 last fall, officials said.
