6 in Iowa Family Are Found Slain
SIOUX CITY, Iowa — A mother and her five children were found slain in their home Thursday, police said.
The bodies were found by a baby-sitter about 6 p.m., Police Chief Joe Frisbie said. The children ranged in age from 5 to 12, he said.
Authorities would not say how the victims died but said none of the wounds was self-inflicted.
Frisbie said authorities believe the bodies had been in the home several days.
Police said they received a call of two children found on the home’s second floor. When they arrived, they found all six bodies.
The Iowa Department of Criminal Investigation was helping in the inquiry.
