Heroism in the Skies
Re “Suspected Bomber Subdued on Flight,” Dec. 23: The Congressional Medal of Honor should be given to the American Airlines flight attendant who discovered and took action against the terrorist on the Paris to Miami flight in the mid-Atlantic. She both saved some 200 lives as well as a very costly airplane. This is truly the personification of high alert and sense of duty.

Regarding the man who boarded an international flight with no luggage, a false passport and a physical profile similar to those of known terrorists, my question is this: How many people were not doing their jobs so that heroic flight attendants and passengers had to do it for them?
