Buena Channels Yet Another Title

Kelly Greathouse had 22 points and 13 rebounds as Buena High clinched a share of its 13th consecutive Channel League girls’ basketball title with a 76-26 victory over San Marcos on Thursday at Buena.
Courtney Young had 21 points, eight rebounds and six assists for Buena (22-0, 6-0 in league play), ranked No. 1 in the nation by USA Today.
The Bulldogs forced 23 turnovers and led, 44-13, at halftime.
Lauren Sargent of Buena made four three-pointers and finished with 14 points.
Ventura 55, Dos Pueblos 42--Jen Dooley scored 20 points for the Cougars in a Channel League victory at Dos Pueblos.
Katy O’Brien had 12 points and seven assists, and Karly Castro added 11 rebounds for Ventura (17-5, 4-3).
Oxnard 65, Channel Islands 49--Sarah Queen had 17 points and 13 rebounds for the Yellowjackets in a Pacific View League victory at Channel Islands.
Tiffany Walker had 17 points and five steals, and Sienna Abraham added 16 points, seven rebounds and five assists for Oxnard (12=9, 6-0).
Camarillo 51, Hueneme 37--Gillian Lillich had 19 points and eight rebounds, and Rachel Young added 13 points and eight rebounds for the Scorpions (18-5, 5-1) in a Pacific View League victory at Hueneme.
Christina Harmeson had 17 points and four steals for the Vikings (3-14, 1-5).
Chaminade 54, Louisville 37--Christina Zdenek had 26 points and six steals for the Eagles in a Mission League victory at Louisville.
Liz Trent had 12 points and 11 rebounds for Chaminade (17-4, 5-3).
BOYS’ BASKETBALL
Grace Brethren 48, L.A. Lutheran 39--Freshman Eric Durso had 17 points and four blocked shots as the Lancers (7-12, 5-3) won a Heritage League game at Lake View Terrace Recreation Center.
