Hastert Has Surgery for Kidney Stones
House Speaker J. Dennis Hastert was released from Rush Copley Medical Center in Aurora after kidney stone surgery, and aides said he planned to spend a few days recuperating at his Illinois home before returning to Washington.

Hastert underwent the surgery after tests showed he had developed kidney stones. Doctors said he otherwise was in “excellent overall health,” according to the hospital.
