Palm Springs. Industrial designer Raymond Loewy, whose works include the U.S. Postal Service logo, the double-decker Greyhound Scenicruiser bus, the interior of the Concorde SST passenger jet and the 1961 Studebaker Avanti, is honored in a weeklong series of events in the city where the futuristic Avanti was penned. The event includes a show of Loewy designs at the Montana St. Martin Gallery and a series of lectures and seminars on his influence on industrial and automotive design.
