Micro General Predicts a Brighter 4th Quarter

Micro General Corp. said it expects fourth-quarter earnings and revenue to exceed third-quarter figures.
The Santa Ana company, which provides information technology services, said its third-quarter earnings totaled $1.1 million on revenue of $28.5 million. In the fourth quarter a year earlier, the company lost $2.7 million on revenue of $23.2 million.
The company, which designs escrow software programs, also said it expects to turn a profit for the year. Micro General posted losses of $7.1 million, or 92 cents a share, in 1999 on revenue of $95.1 million.
The stock climbed $1.19 a share, or 15.7%, to $8.75, in Nasdaq trading.
