The body of a man found floating near a pier in Marina del Rey was identified Thursday as that of Richard Frank Hazelhurst, who was reported missing about a week ago, authorities said.
The body of Hazelhurst, 56, was discovered about noon Wednesday near the docked boat he lived on in the E Basin off the 13900 block of Palawan Way, coroner’s investigator David Smith said.
An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death. Thus far, he said, nothing points to foul play.
Although homicide detectives are conducting a routine investigation, Smith said, “The body came in listed as an accident.”
