Paul Waigner, 56, an Emmy-winning producer whose credits include “Beverly Hills 90210” and “Scarecrow and Mrs. King.” Waigner, born in Long Island, N.Y., began his career in the theater as a stage manager in New York. He accompanied the national touring companies of “Fiddler on the Roof,” “Jesus Christ Superstar” and “1776” before moving to Los Angeles and going into television. He earned an Emmy as producer of the history-themed “Bicentennial Minutes” that ran nightly on CBS for more than a year leading up to July 4, 1976. He helped produce the Fox hit “Beverly Hills 90210” during the 10 seasons it was on the air and was executive producer at the show’s conclusion. During his more than 20 years in television he was an advocate for disabled actors, and he earned the Michael Landon Award for his volunteer work with Media Access, a group that promotes the accurate portrayal of disabled people. On Jan. 19 at UCLA Medical Center of cancer.
