Contreras Advances in Junior Sectionals

Mark Contreras of Temple City advanced to the round of 16 in the boys’ 18 singles division of the 99th Southern California Junior Sectional Championships with a 6-4, 5-7, 6-4 victory over David Keyes of Sherman Oaks on Monday at the Los Caballeros Racquet and Sports Club in Fountain Valley.
Kyle Roybal of Santa Ana rallied to outlast Warren Min of San Marino, 3-6, 7-5, 6-4, in the boys’ 16 division.

Top-seeded Bob Duesler of Newport Beach defeated third-seeded Jim Landin of Long Beach, 6-4, 6-4, to win the men’s 65 singles title Sunday in the U.S. Tennis Assn. National Men’s 55 and 65 Hardcourt Championships at Lindborg Racquet Club in Huntington Beach.
Dick Landenberger of Dallas defeated Michael Wolffe of Laguna Niguel, 6-2, 6-4, in the men’s 60 singles final.
