Parents Lobby Governor About Tustin Base Plans

A hundred parents who want a new school to be built at the closed Tustin Marine base traveled overnight to Sacramento on Tuesday in two chartered buses to seek Gov. Gray Davis’ support.
Two bills awaiting Gray’s signature would make school construction at the base a priority over commercial development, which Tustin officials propose, and would set aside 100 acres for Santa Ana Unified and Rancho Santiago Community College districts.
