A 15-year-old Garden Grove boy and his father have been arrested in connection with a June 19 shooting that killed an Anaheim teenager, authorities said Tuesday.
The youth, whose name was withheld because of his age, was charged with murder in the shooting of Benjamin Escobar, 16. The boy’s father, Salvador Munoz Gutierrez, 50, was charged with being an accessory by helping the 15-year-old escape.
Three days after the incident, investigators located the shooting suspect in Mexico, where he had fled with his father’s help, Garden Grove police said. The youth agreed to turn himself in and was arrested Monday at the San Ysidro border crossing, he said.
