In other nonleague softball games:
Bolsa Grande 4, Brethren Christian 3 (8)--Bolsa Grande won its first game in almost three years, ending a 67-game losing streak, as Thu Nguyen scored on a Brook Schuster single with two outs in the bottom of the eighth.
No. 3 Kennedy 8, Fullerton 1--Breanne Sabol and Pam Young each went four for five for visiting Kennedy (6-2). Both players also drove in two runs and scored twice.
Woodbridge 1, Santa Margarita 0 (10)--Melissa Haffner singled in Maritza Padilla with two outs in the bottom of the 10th inning for Woodbridge (5-5).
In the Garden Grove League:
No. 4 Pacifica 7, Santiago 0--Kasey Carter pitched a two-hitter and Amber Gaines had a sixth-inning home run for visiting Pacifica (2-1, 2-0).
Rancho Alamitos 4, Los Amigos 0--Julie Cooke pitched a two-hitter for Rancho Alamitos, striking out six. Vanessa Brown had two hits and scored one run for the Vaqueros (6-4, 2-0).
In Sea View League golf:
Aliso Niguel 198, Irvine 203--Ben Adams was medalist for host Aliso Niguel (4-4, 1-0), shooting one-over 37 at El Niguel.
In the South Coast League:
El Toro 399, No. 4 San Clemente 399 (El Toro wins on sixth-man score)--Sixth man Matt Lundin shot 86 for El Toro (4-1, 2-0) and San Clemente’s sixth man shot 89, giving the victory to the Chargers at the par-72 El Toro Marine Base. El Toro’s Steve Taylor shot one-over 73 to win medalist honors.
Trabuco Hills 200, Dana Hills 208--David Hallgren made two birdies and shot par 36 at Coto de Caza for Trabuco Hills (4-2, 1-1).
In the Sunset League:
No. 3 Huntington Beach 190, Edison 207--Andy Anderson, Andy Leavelle, Joey Benedetti and Matt Fletcher each shot one-over 37 for Huntington Beach (4-0, 1-0) at SeaCliff.
No. 10 Marina 185, Los Alamitos 198--Daniel Chin made three birdies and two bogeys to finish at one-under 35 for Marina (7-0, 1-0) at Lakewood.
No. 7 Esperanza 185, Fountain Valley 186--Jay Choe had four birdies for a one-under 35 at El Prado for Esperanza (7-0, 1-0).
In nonleague girls’ swimming:
No. 1 Irvine 97, No. 3 San Clemente 77--Courtney Cashion won the 50 freestyle (25.06) and 100 butterfly (1:01.07) and swam on the winning 200 medley relay (1:55.80) and 200 freestyle relay (1:43.43) to lead the Vaqueros.
In nonleague volleyball:
No. 1 Foothill 3, Woodbridge 2--Matt Daniels had 26 kills, Kevin Logan 22 and setter Ryan Burgess had 62 assists for Foothill (3-1), which held off the host Warriors, 15-13, 15-9, 14-16, 2-15, 15-9.
