A 19-year-old man who police say could be from Lake Forest was decapitated late Saturday after crashing while allegedly racing on the Pomona Freeway.
The man was driving over 90 mph when he lost control of his Honda Prelude about 11:10 p.m., said Lt. Fred Corral of the Los Angeles County coroner’s investigations division.
The car skidded off the road into a steel pole just west of the Corona Freeway, Corral said, and the force of the crash decapitated the driver.
Corral said the driver appeared to be racing another car. The driver’s identity was being withheld Sunday evening pending notification of his next of kin.
