Marinovich Suspended

Avenger Coach Robert Lyles said quarterback Todd Marinovich has been suspended indefinitely “for conduct detrimental to the team.”
Marinovich has been ejected from the last two Avenger games, including Friday’s loss at Nashville that dropped the team to 0-5. Team spokesman John Tamanaha said Marinovich’s recent behavior was not tied to the court-ordered drug rehabilitation program Marinovich is undergoing.
“Todd’s actions left me no choice but to suspend him,” Lyles said. “We have talked it over and Todd knows what he did was wrong. Losing his cool and getting thrown out of games does not help us at all.”
Marinovich will not be in uniform for the Avengers’ next game and will not practice until further notice, Lyles said.
“I’ve apologized to Coach Lyles and the rest of the team,” Marinovich said. “My conduct was totally uncalled for. I will do everything in my power to prove that I have learned my lesson.”
