From Times Wire Reports
The Michigan Senate for the first time expelled one of its members, a Republican who had been accused of verbally abusing staff members, hitting his fiancee and keeping topless photos of her on his Senate-issued laptop computer.
Sen. David Jaye, 43, was forced out on a 33-2 vote, seven more votes than were needed. The conservative senator, who likened himself to a “junkyard dog,” said he was being railroaded for his political views.
“I’m going into bankruptcy over trumped-up charges,” said Jaye, who also has three drunken driving convictions.
