Debilitating Effects Linger From Ruptured Implants

Regarding “All but Forgotten” (Oct. 1): For anyone to tell us that implants are safe because there hasn’t been anything to the contrary found yet is not the truth.

Silicone is a very chemically reactive and dangerous material. Once it ruptures and is let loose in your body, it is almost impossible to retrieve. My body has suffered greatly from its effects. The silicone is still popping up in my body and in painful eruptions in the skin of my fingers. Neurologically, I will most likely never recover.

I am thankful that implants and the diseases they produce are being mentioned and publicized and that it is being kept in many minds. But the total truth about implants needs to be revealed so more and more young women don’t mistakenly get implanted thinking they will finally be able to become that “total” woman. Implants are not worth your good health.
