Kings Rout Spurs Behind Divac

Vlade Divac had 25 points, 11 rebounds and five assists for the Sacramento Kings, who never trailed in routing the San Antonio Spurs, 103-83, Sunday night at Sacramento.

Mike Bibby scored 20 points, Peja Stojakovic had 11 points and Scott Pollard had 10 points and nine rebounds for the Kings.

Leading by 18 points, the Kings opened the fourth quarter with an 11-4 run for an 89-64 lead.

Tim Duncan had 17 points and 13 rebounds for San Antonio.

David Robinson was never a factor for the Spurs, missing his eight shots and finishing with two points and five rebounds in 16 minutes.

Detroit 100, Washington 78--Michael Jordan, playing on consecutive nights for the first time this season, scored 19 points in only 22 minutes at Auburn Hills, Mich., but they weren’t nearly enough for the Wizards.

Jerry Stackhouse scored 28 points for Detroit, Corliss Williamson added 18 and Dana Barros had 17.

The Pistons went on a 14-2 run in the second quarter with Jordan in the game and Stackhouse on the bench.

Jordan, who played only four minutes in the second half, had eight rebounds and two assists.

Dallas 94, Memphis 85--Juwan Howard scored 36 points for the Mavericks at Memphis.

Howard scored 14 of Dallas’ first 17 points, shot 16 for 23 from the field and grabbed eight bounds.

Michael Finley had 24 points and five assists for the Mavericks, and Tim Hardaway scored 13 points.

Center Lorenzen Wright had 33 points and 26 rebounds for Memphis. Guard Jason Williams scored 21.

Houston 103, Phoenix 100--Moochie Norris’ three-point basket at the buzzer was the winner at Phoenix.

Cuttino Mobley scored 26 points and Kenny Thomas added 16 for the Rockets, who rallied from a 14-point fourth-quarter deficit.

Penny Hardaway scored 31 points and Stephon Marbury had 27 for the Suns, who gave up 100 points for the third time in four games.

Golden State 96, Portland 86--Antawn Jamison had 24 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Warriors at Oakland.

Danny Fortson had 17 points and 21 rebounds as the Warriors outrebounded Portland, 65-37, in winning consecutive games for the first time since January.

Bonzi Wells scored 26 points for the Trail Blazers.

The victory snapped Golden State’s eight-game losing streak to Portland dating to 1999.

Toronto 113, Indiana 100--Vince Carter scored 28 points and Antonio Davis added 21 in the Raptors’ victory at Toronto.

Jermaine O’Neal scored 21 points for the Pacers, who shot only 38% from the field.

The Pacers, who trailed by as many as 15, never got closer than five points after Al Harrington made one of two free throws early in the fourth quarter.
