Body of Woman, 20, Found in Apartment; Husband Arrested
The body of a 20-year-old woman was found in her Northridge apartment Wednesday, and her husband was later arrested at work on suspicion of killing her, police said.
Dania Mezen was found shortly after noon by a visitor when one of Mezen’s children answered the door, police said.
It is unknown who called 911, sending police to the Northridge Palms apartments in the 8600 block of Wilbur Avenue, authorities said.
Mezen’s daughters, ages 3 years and 18 months, and her 6-month-old son were home, Police Capt. John Sherman said. The children were turned over to the county Department of Children and Family Services.
Mezen’s husband, David Vasquez, was arrested at his job a few blocks away and booked on suspicion of murder, Sherman said.
Police declined to say how Mezen had been killed.
Janet Gomez, a manager of the 36-unit complex, said Mezen had lived there two months.
