Red Wings Beat Flames
Detroit had only 18 shots, but Brendan Shanahan, Henrik Zetterberg, Sean Avery and Sergei Fedorov each scored to give the Red Wings a 4-2 victory over the Calgary Flames on Sunday night at Detroit.
The Red Wings led, 2-1, going into the third period, despite being outshot, 20-10.
That two-period total was a season-low -- beating the 12 attempts at Vancouver on Nov. 22.
New York Rangers 4, Tampa Bay 3 -- Ronald Petrovicky and Pavel Bure scored in an 18-second span in the last three minutes to counter a Lightning rally at Madison Square Garden.
Atlanta 5, Washington 4 -- Tony Hrkac scored the tiebreaking goal with 1:04 left at Atlanta. Hrkac beat Olaf Kolzig high to the short side after Brendan Witt gave up the puck in his own zone.
