Accused Spy Pleads Not Guilty, Wants Jury Trial

Brian Patrick Regan, who is accused of conspiring to spy for Iraqi President Saddam Hussein, pleaded not guilty to federal charges and his lawyer asked for a jury trial.
Attorney Nina Ginsberg entered the plea on behalf of Regan, 39, at a brief hearing in Alexandria before U.S. District Judge Claude Hilton.
In the 10-count indictment made public this week, Regan was accused of attempting to hand over U.S. secrets, not only to Hussein but also to China and Libya.
He could face the death penalty on two counts in the indictment.
