Cal State Fullerton (3-8, 0-2) at UC Irvine (8-4, 1-0), 7 p.m., KUCI-FM (88.9)--As Irvine tries to extend its 16-game home winning streak, the Anteaters must avoid looking past the Titans tonight and Riverside on Saturday with a showdown at Utah State looming next week. Guard Jerry Green is on pace to become Irvine’s all-time leading scorer. He needs 157 points to pass Tod Murphy and scored 50 in Oneida Classic tournament victories over Lipscomb and Boston U. Fullerton lost its two Big West games by a total of three points and is coming off a road loss to Northern Arizona.
UC Riverside (4-6, 1-1) at Long Beach State (4-8, 0-1), 7 p.m., KPRO (1570)--Coach Wayne Morgan is hoping a 35-point blowout of Indiana Purdue Fort Wayne jump-started his 49ers for the next three games, Big West contests against Riverside, Cal State Fullerton and Idaho. Sophomore forward Kevin Roberts’ emergence as a reliable scorer is helping ease the loss of swingman Lemi Williams, sidelined for the season by a knee injury. Riverside is also feeling good after routing Sacramento State.
