* Sempra Energy, owner of California’s third-largest utility, agreed to buy Enron Corp.’s New York-based metal concentrates trading business for $43.5 million in cash. Sempra said the purchase, which is subject to approval by the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, will add to earnings this year.
* Cardinal Health Inc., the second-biggest U.S. drug wholesaler, agreed to buy closely held Magellan Laboratories Inc. of San Diego for an undisclosed amount of stock.
* Pulmonetic Systems Inc. agreed to pay $4 million and share ventilator technology with Viasys Healthcare Inc. to settle all outstanding lawsuits between the companies. Colton, Calif.-based Pulmonetic Systems will make the payments over the next three years to Viasys unit Bird Products Corp., which is based in Palm Springs.
