ConAgra Profit Rises 47% on Increased Sales

ConAgra Foods Inc., the second-largest U.S. food company, said third-quarter profit rose 47% and forecast better-than-expected earnings for its fiscal year as it increased sales of Butterball turkey products and Healthy Choice meals.
Net income rose to $170.8 million, or 31 cents a share, as revenue fell 2.1% to $6.24 billion, reflecting reduced beef output after a plant fire.
ConAgra shares rose 30 cents to $24.25 on the NYSE.
