3 Campuses Honored as Distinguished Schools
Three Ventura County middle and high school campuses have been named California Distinguished Schools for 2003.
Los Cerritos Middle School and Westlake High School in the Conejo Valley Unified School District and Moorpark High School in Moorpark Unified School District received the state honor.
The selections are based on lengthy applications and visits to the schools, which are evaluated on curriculum, test scores, parent involvement, assistance for special-needs students and safety programs, among other criteria.
Since 1985, when the program began, 127 schools in the county have received the designation.
