Julia Roberts leaves ICM
Julia Roberts, the first actress to earn $20 million a picture, has severed ties with her talent agency, International Creative Management, where she’d been a client since 1991.
No reason was publicly offered for the move, nor was it clear whether Roberts would sign on elsewhere. Since her longtime agent, Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas, left to become a partner in Revolution Studios in October 2000, the Oscar-winning actress (“Erin Brockovich”) had been represented by ICM Chairman Jeff Berg.
The move is a major blow to ICM, particularly since Cameron Diaz followed her agent, Nick Styne, to Creative Artists Agency last year.
The agency still represents a chunk of Hollywood talent, however, including Denzel Washington, Mel Gibson, Michelle Pfeiffer and Richard Gere.
