* For the week ended Friday, the average rate on 30-year mortgages rose to 6.02%, from 5.89% the previous week. The rate for 15-year mortgages was 5.36%, an increase from 5.22% the week before, Freddie Mac said.
* October residential projects totaled a seasonally adjusted $484 billion, a monthly record, the Commerce Department said.
