San Diego Will Learn the Black Hole Truth

The Times has mentioned at length the negative impact the state of the economy has had on San Diego during Super Bowl week. But you haven’t taken into account the positive effect the Tampa Bay victory will have on the budget of the San Diego Police Department.
Because all the Eagle fans will be staying home, it means the SDPD will have to arrest only half the crowd at the stadium.

Few things in sports are more humorous than the sight of a sports reporter sniveling and whining because somebody or something canceled their chance to be Important.
So Jon Gruden chose to do his job and remain at work preparing for the biggest game of his life instead of attending a news conference. Bummer. Now we will never get to hear Plaschke’s Big Question; the one that humbles all the other reporters, elicits the historic quote that defines this Super Bowl and brings a permanent peace to the Middle East.
Of course, because this is the Super Bowl of hype and hoopla, maybe he can take the time to swap notes with the annual cub reporter from Nickelodeon and still give us readers a meaningful and informative column.
