ABC says goodbye to ‘Port Charles’

Citing financial pressures, ABC said Friday it is canceling its daytime soap opera “Port Charles,” effective Oct. 3. The network will give the time period back to its affiliated stations to program themselves.
“Port Charles,” a spinoff of “General Hospital,” premiered June 1, 1997.
