Brand Put on Injured List for First Time in Career

BOSTON — Clipper forward Elton Brand was put on the injured list Friday because of a stress fracture in his lower left leg.
The Clippers activated Tremaine Fowlkes to replace him.
Brand had missed the last five games before Friday because of the injury. It is his first time on the injured list in his four-year career.
He is averaging 18.4 points and 11.2 rebounds this season,
Fowlkes, sidelined for 23 games because of a strained right shoulder, has averaged 5.3 points and 3.4 rebounds in 23 games this season.

Lamar Odom played against the Celtics after missing two games because of a sprained right ankle.
Odom made only three of 17 shots in an 83-72 loss.

Eric Piatkowski, who was activated from the injured list Jan. 24 after sitting out a month and a half because of a lower abdominal strain, was a late scratch from the starting lineup. Corey Maggette started in his place.
