Blizzard Grounds Disney Shareholders
A blizzard may keep some Walt Disney Co. shareholders from attending the company’s annual meeting in Denver today after several airlines canceled flights to the city’s international airport.
A company spokesman said it was unclear how many shareholders would be unable to attend, but said stockholders representing the vast majority of the outstanding shares already had cast their votes on four shareholder proposals.
The proposals ask for Disney to adopt a set of human and labor rights standards for doing business in China; report all injuries from ride-related accidents; and restrict pay and the use of stock options for executive officers.
Shareholders who could not make it to Denver will be able to listen to the meeting via a Web cast.
