3 Face Trial in Death of Transgender Teen

Three men were ordered to stand trial for allegedly killing a transgender teenager, after a judge rejected arguments Tuesday that the slaying was a crime of passion.
Alameda County Judge Kenneth Mark Burr ordered Jason Michael Cazares, 22; Jose Antonio Merel, 23; and Michael William Magidson, 22, held for trial for the slaying of 17-year-old Eddie “Gwen” Araujo.
Jaron Chase Nabors, 19, pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter in the death of Araujo, who was killed Oct. 4 after it was discovered that the teenager, who had been living as a girl, was biologically male.
