U.S. Manufacturing Activity Picks Up

The accelerating U.S. economic recovery has begun to penetrate factories across the country, although slow job growth continues to be a concern, regional Federal Reserve banks said.
Monthly reports from Federal Reserve banks in the Midwest and Southeast showed that factory activity increased at a healthy clip in September and October, respectively.
Manufacturing activity also grew in October in the central states, but at a slower pace.
