Placer County is No. 1 in the nation for employment growth, a recent study shows.
The U.S. Department of Labor report said Placer County led the nation in job growth with a 4.9% increase in jobs from March 2002 to March 2003.
During the same period, the national job market experienced a 0.3% decline.
The report compares employment statistics from the nation’s 315 largest counties.
Much of the growth has taken place in expanding southern Placer County.
