Militant Is Sentenced in Deadly 2000 Attack

An Indonesian court convicted an Islamic militant of bombing the Philippine ambassador’s house in 2000 and sentenced him to 20 years in prison.
Abdul Jabar was also found guilty of involvement in two church bombings on Dec. 24, 2000.
Officials have blamed the attacks on the terrorist group Jemaah Islamiah.
State prosecutors in Jakarta had urged a life sentence. The bomb killed two passersby and seriously injured Philippine envoy Leonides Caday.
