The mother of Laci Peterson filed a lawsuit seeking to bar Scott Peterson from profiting from the death of his wife and unborn child.
The lawsuit, filed in Stanislaus County Superior Court on Friday, asks a judge to transfer any income stemming from the high-profile murder case, including a potential book or movie deal, to a trust account held for the victims’ beneficiaries.
Scott Peterson faces trial on two counts of murder in the death of Laci Peterson, and the couple’s son, Conner.
