From Times Wire Reports
The 876-foot-high New River Gorge Bridge, the nation’s second-highest steel arch span, will be featured on the state’s commemorative quarter, Gov. Bob Wise announced.
Coins with the image of the 3,030-foot-long arch framing a vista of the deep southern West Virginia canyon will be minted next year.
It will be the 35th quarter minted as part of the commemorative series that will feature all 50 states. West Virginia was the 35th state to join the union, in 1863.
