Alleged Chemical Vapor Bomb Plot Foiled

British and U.S. officers foiled a plot to create a chemical vapor bomb in Britain, the BBC said. The alleged plot involved osmium tetroxide, but there was no indication that potential attackers had obtained it, the BBC said, citing security sources.
A professor at the University of Leeds doubted that the approach would work, describing the chemical as “mildly irritant.”
