Small Shark Forms Attachment to Snorkeler

A carpet shark about 2 feet long bit the leg of snorkeler Luke Tresoglavic north of Sydney, Australia -- and held on so tightly that the man swam 1,000 feet to shore with the carnivore attached to his leg.
On shore, the shark still wouldn’t let go, so Tresoglavic, 22, walked to his car, drove to a lifeguard post and walked inside, with the shark still hanging on.
“There’s nothing in our procedure manual for that,” lifeguard Michael Jones said. The creature let go when the lifeguards flushed its gills with fresh water, and it later died. Tresoglavic was taken to a hospital with 70 puncture wounds.
