One woman’s treasure

I read Samantha Bonar’s male dress code (“Fashion Terror Won’t Get the Girl,” Feb. 5) and was offended by the advice to send bright shirts “off to the Salvation Army so some poor schmuck in a Third World country can embarrass himself.”
I married a man who grew up in a Third World country. What a luxury to toss away perfectly good clothes and then snicker behind the backs of people who are too poor to have a choice!
By the way, as a woman, aren’t you tired of the oppression of what we can and cannot look like? Are you really going to shove that oppression onto men? It could hurt men in the long run ... and the women who want to get close to them.
While you’re wondering where all the nice guys are, I’ll be having a heart-to-heart with my “schmuck.”

Could Samantha Bonar have included baseball caps on any guy over 13? And how about baggy, knee-length cargo pants? Does she want some man to pick her up for a date wearing these articles of clothing?
