A bouncy new delight comes from four Aussies who have achieved mega-success with preschoolers and moms as the Wiggles, thanks to colorful visuals, movement-oriented music, goofy and giggle-inducing antics, and legit rock ‘n’ roll chops. Murray Cook, Jeff Fatt, Anthony Field and Greg Page are joined by regular sidekicks Dorothy the Dinosaur, Henry Octopus, Wags the Dog and Captain Feathersword, along with a host of youthful dancers in this concert-like performance that offers an irresistible invitation to dance and play along. Each song, accompanied by
real-life video footage of visits to a doctor, a dentist, a New York fire station, a dairy farm, a grocery store and more, is
crafted to expand horizons, amuse and reassure.

Aero-Troopers
Monarch Home Video
84 minutes; ages 8 and older
DVD and VHS: $19.95

This new computer-generated animated feature by Nueart Pictures/Icarus Tree Productions spins an involved tale set in a sky world, where a floating village of tree-dwellers is destroyed by a mechanical monster called Nemeclous. The lone survivor, a young boy, is rescued by the crew of a flying sky station. He joins the “Aero-troopers” in their mission to destroy the beast and its robotic, wasp-like minions and becomes, natch, their best hope for success. Actor Mark Hamill heads the cast of voice actors, who deliver the ponderous, otherworldly dialogue. The detailed Aero-ship and its gadgets and the sky world -- where people fish for food out of a “water ribbon” and ride the clouds -- makes for an imaginative adventure.
