A man jumped from a downtown highway overpass Sunday, killing himself and forcing the California Highway Patrol to shut down several lanes of the Harbor Freeway.
The man, whose identity was not released, jumped from an overpass near Olympic Boulevard at 12:14 p.m., said CHP Officer Francisco Villalobos.
Four of six southbound lanes were closed so the coroner’s office could investigate the apparent suicide, causing traffic to back up for miles, Villalobos said.
