Museum Renovating 1912-Era Train
From Times Wire Reports
Work is underway at the Western Railway Museum to renovate the Sacramento Northern 1005, a 1912 train that carried passengers from Oakland to Chico.
The train ran on the electric railroad line that crossed rural eastern Solano County. It had room for an engineer and rows of passenger seats, and it pulled other passenger cars.
It was retired from service in the mid-1940s and ended up at the museum in 1965.
