Not-Guilty Pleas in Children’s Drownings

A mother and her former boyfriend accused in the deaths of her three children -- who drowned when their car plunged into a lake -- pleaded not guilty in Clinton to first-degree murder charges.
Amanda Hamm, 27, and Maurice Lagrone Jr., 28, are charged in the deaths of Christopher Hamm, 6, Austin Brown, 3, and Kyleigh Hamm, 1. The children were in the back seat of Hamm’s car when it sank into Clinton Lake Sept. 2, authorities said.
